Teacher stabbed dead in Binalbagan

BACOLOD City – Police are looking into robbery as the motive behind the killing of a college teacher in Binalbagan, Negros Occidental yesterday.
Police Major Randy Babor, town police chief, said that a tricycle driver found the lifeless body of 51-year-old Tony Lazaga at the roadside of Barangay San Pedro around 3:30 a.m.
Lazaga, a resident of Barangay 35 here, was on his way home to his boarding house when he was believed to be waylaid by unidentified persons.
Babor said the victim suffered multiple stab wounds. His cellular phone and cash were reported missing.
Police recovered from the scene two bags containing the laptop and personal belongings of the victim, two kitchen knives, a damaged folding umbrella, and one slipper.
Babor said they have three persons of interest in the incident. Investigation is ongoing.
