BACOLOD City – A public school teacher was slain by two unidentified motorcycle-riding assailants at Barangay Poblacion, Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental last Friday.
Killed was Basiledes Ledon, 59, of the said village.
Based on the initial report of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (Norppo), the suspects, according to some bystanders, reportedly parked their motorcycle nearby, and one of them approached and shot the victim.
The perpetrators, who were wearing jackets and bonnets, fled.
Police recovered from the scene two cartridges and a slug of .45 caliber ammunition.
Ledon, who suffered gunshot wounds on different parts of his body, died at Guihulngan District Hospital.
Investigation is ongoing to determine the motive of the killing.
It was the fourth shooting incident that happened in the province since May 26.
