An elementary school teacher died while three others were wounded in a road accident evening of Nov. 11, 2019 in Concepcion, Iloilo.
Police Major Jonah Galicha, Concepcion police chief, identified the victim as Tita Pareja, 56, of Barangay Puente Bunglas, Ajuy town.
Injured were Pareja’s children, Carol, 29, and Lino, 14; tricycle driver Adonis Bansa, 25, and passenger Rachelle Lumawod, all residents of Barangay Tipacla, Ajuy.
Pareja and her children were walking on the roadside at Barangay Agnaga, when Bansa’s tricycle rammed into them.
Galicha said Bansa claimed that he swerved to the right because he got blinded by the beam lights of an approaching vehicle.
The driver claimed he did not see the victims on the roadside.
The victims were rushed to the hospital but Pareja did not survive.
Lino and Bansa only suffered bruises while Carol and Rachelle sustained minor head injuries.
Bansa is now detained for proper disposition of his case.
