BACOLOD City – A taxi driver was injured after he was allegedly attacked by alleged motorcycle-riding suspects at Crossing Calibago, Barangay Lopez Jaena, Murcia, Negros Occidental on June 22, 2019.
Police identified the victim as Joeler Guevara of Bacolod City.
Investigation indicated that Guevara was on his way to fetch a passenger who called him through phone when he was waylaid by two men armed with a wooden stick.
The two men allegedly struck him with the stick and even smashed the front windshield of his cab. They later stabbed his neck.
The suspects allegedly carted away the victim’s cellular phone worth P9,500, and fled.
The suspects were arrested in a pursuit operation and were later identified as Hernani Talaman Jr., 38, and Anthony Padua, 34, both residents of the said village.
The suspects are detained at Murcia Municipal Police Station.
