ROXAS CITY, Capiz— A barangay tanod or village police was shot dead by two cousins Tuesday evening at Barangay Manoling, President Roxas, Capiz.
Police identified the victim as Jerry Abendano, 27, while the suspects were Gabriel Batan and Elohilo Batan. The three were neighbors in Manoling.
Investigation conducted by Police Master Sergeant Raffy Villariez of President Roxas Municipal Police Station indicated that Abendano went to the suspects’ house to ask them to lower the volume of their karaoke machine.
The confrontation led to a heated argument between the suspects and victim.
The Batans later shot the victim in the chest with an unidentified gun caliber then fled. They are still at large.
Abendano was declared dead in a hospital.
Police learned that the suspects were drunk.
