Tanod shot dead in Tapaz

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 60-year-old barangay tanod (village police) was shot dead Monday evening inside his house at Brgy. San Pedro, Tapaz, Capiz.
Demetrio Gargoles Sr., a native of Brgy. San Julian, Tapaz was declared dead at the Tapaz District Hospital.
Investigation by the Tapaz Municipal Police Station indicated that relatives found Gargoles bathed in his own blood inside his house.
Neighbors told the police that a certain Ryan Gemino shot the victim.
Gemino disappeared after the shooting which happened around 11:30 pm Monday.
Police are eyeing old grudges and misunderstanding as the motive for the incident.
It was learned that Gargoles and Gemino figured in a heated argument two days before the shooting.
