Tanod hunted for shooting to death farmer in Dumarao

ROXAS CITY, Capiz— A 46-year-old barangay tanod or village watchman is hunted by the police for allegedly shooting to death a farmer evening of July 8, 2021 in Dumarao, Capiz.
Ranjie Gallego Halamane, 46, of Brgy. Bungsuan, Dumarao is accused of killing Buenvenido Hinguillo Alinain, 62, also of said village.
Investigation by Dumarao PNP indicated that Halamane was buying gasoline in a store when Alinain arrived and asked the suspect “Ano’ng problema (What’s the problem)?”
The suspect replied “Basi kamo may problema (You might be the one with the problem)”, prompting the victim to punch him.
Halamane then drew a .45 caliber pistol and fired it at the ground once. He then pointed the gun at the victim and shot him four times.
Alinain suffered gunshot wounds on the neck and armpit. The suspect immediately fled with his gun.
The victim was taken to Sen. Gerardo M. Roxas Memorial District Hospital in Dao town where he was declared dead.
It was learned that Halamane also brought his family with him. Both victim and suspect were drunk when the incident happened.
Police Executive master Sergeant George Flagne, Jr. of Dumarao police station urged the tanod to surrender and face the case to be filed against him.
