BACOLOD City – A barangay watchman or tanod and three others are facing criminal charges for an alleged illegal gambling operation at Barangay Tagukon, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental last Saturday.
Police identified the suspects as Freddie Dacumos, 57; Raniel Delos Santos, 36; Fernando Morales, 49; and barangay tanod Rex Conde, 32, all residents of Barangay Camingawan.
Police Lieutenant Jomel Salarda, deputy police chief of Kabankalan City Police Station, said the four suspects were charged for illegal gambling and illegal cockfighting.
Recovered from them during their apprehension were six fighting cocks, eight dead fighting cocks, three steel gaffs, P700 cash, gambling paraphernalia, and two sling bags.
Police also confiscated from Conde a Remington .45 caliber pistol with a magazine loaded with six live ammunitions.
Salarda said that Conde is also facing additional charges for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
