BACOLOD City – Talisay City Mayor Neil Lizares lifted the liquor ban in the city Tuesday after the province of Negros Occidental shifted to the more relaxed General Community Quarantine effective May 1, 2020.
The ban was lifted after Lizares signed Executive Order No. 21, series of 2020.
Lizares said Talisaynons can now sell or buy alcoholic beverages but they cannot drink in public places.
The EO also prohibited mass gatherings such as fiestas, celebrations, and other similar activities.
Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson on May 1, 2020 issued Executive Order 20-20-B series of 2020 to commence the gradual transition from enhanced community quarantine to general community quarantine in the province of Negros Occidental.
The shift was based on the recommendation of the National Inter-Agency Task Force against the coronavirus disease 2019.
