Takeover attempts of Ceres terminals foiled

BACOLOD City – Tensions at the Bacolod North and South Terminal erupted Friday after guards allegedly hired by Vallacar Transit Inc. (VTI) president Roy Yanson and his three other siblings attempted to take over the said terminals.

Members of EY Security Agency tried to enter the two terminals, but they were barred by the guards working for clan matriarch Olivia Yanson, who also arrived in the area.

The Yanson elder told reporters that the takeover was illegal as Roy’s group had no court order authorizing the move.

Members of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) also arrived to help de-escalate the tensions between the two sides.

Olivia described her children’s actions as “hurtful” saying they should avoid escalating the situation, and instead wait for the court decision on their disputes.

“What they have done is beyond the limit,” she said.

She also ordered the guards working for her to “relax, work normally, and avoid any overreaction.”

She also said that they will analyze the incident to see if another legal action would be necessary.

Operations at the two terminals are normal as of press time.
