The suspect, identified only as alias RV, 26, a construction worker and resident of Barangay Leon, Laua-an, Antique, was arrested in Barangay Inabasan Sur, Hamtic.
Joint elements of the Hamtic Municipal Police Station and the Taguig City Police Station, along with personnel from the Regional Intelligence Unit 6, the Antique Police Provincial Office–Provincial Intelligence Unit, and the 1st Antique Provincial Mobile Force Company, carried out the arrest.
Police said the suspect was apprehended by virtue of a warrant for murder issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 153 of the National Capital Judicial Region on June 26, 2025.
No bail was recommended for the suspect’s temporary liberty.
The suspect is currently under the custody of the Hamtic Municipal Police Station for documentation and proper disposition before his turnover to the court concerned.
PBGen. Josefino Ligan, regional director of the Police Regional Office 6, said the arrest reflects law enforcement’s commitment to justice.
“This successful arrest underscores the relentless efforts of PRO-6 and our partner units in pursuing fugitives, regardless of location,” Ligan said.
He added that police will continue strengthening inter-agency and inter-regional coordination to ensure individuals who commit heinous crimes are held accountable under the law.
