A Mitsubishi Montero Sports SUV rammed into a utility pole in Molo, Iloilo City early morning of June 27.
The vehicle’s front bumper was wrecked but the 56-year-old lady driver, who requested anonymity, was not hurt.
Lieutenant Colonel Ethan Estaya, chief of ICPO Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Unit (TIEU), said the woman came from Barangay Baluarte, Molo and was headed to the area of City Proper district.
Estaya said it was possible that the woman was speeding and failed to control the steering wheel.
Instead of making a right turn, she went straight ahead and plowed a utility pole.
Meanwhile, Estaya said they have not confirmed reports that the victim, a resident of City Proper district, was trying to chase after her husband, who allegedly came from a motel in Molo district.
“That’s what we heard but she hasn’t told anything to our traffic investigator. She just asked that her name be withheld for broadcast or print purposes,” he said.
