Suspected robber charged in illegal drugs case

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Police on Monday, Oct. 6, will file a case against a 20-year-old alleged notorious robber who was arrested Friday morning, Oct. 3, in a drug buy-bust operation conducted by the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) at Sitio Iwahig, Barangay Banica, Roxas City.
Charges for violating Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against Rodman Sangrines of the said place before the City Prosecutor’s Office.
Recovered from the suspect were six sachets of suspected shabu and PHP 7,000 in buy-bust money.
The suspect is currently under the custody of the Roxas City Police Station.
Police records show that the suspect was recently involved in a series of robbery incidents here.
Meanwhile, a former police officer wanted for the crime of attempted homicide was arrested Thursday evening, Oct. 2, at his house in Barangay Ilaya Ivisan, Capiz.
The Ivisan Municipal Police Station identified the suspect as alias Nomer, 43, of Barangay Tiza here but temporarily residing in Barangay Ilaya Ivisan.
The warrant of arrest was issued by Judge Ramcez John Alamo Honrado of the Municipal Circuit Trial Court (MCTC) in Dao–Ivisan, Dao, Capiz, on Oct. 2, 2025.
The court recommended PHP 36,000 for his temporary liberty.
He is currently under the custody of the Ivisan Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.
