ROXAS CITY, Capiz – An alleged drug peddler was arrested Tuesday afternoon in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Station Drug Enforcement Team of Roxas City Police Station inside a hotel at Barangay Tiza here.
Police identified the suspect as Hermenio Buenvenida, 32, of Baybay village here.
Senior Master Sergeant Ramil Arcangeles, Roxas City PNP spokesperson, said they conducted a month-long surveillance operation before Buenvenida was arrested.
Arcangeles said Buenvenida is a newly-identified drug personality with alleged connections with other drug personalities who were earlier arrested in a series of anti-drug operations.
Recovered from the suspect were four sachets of suspected shabu weighing 15 grams and valued at P102,000, and the P1,000 marked money.
Buenvenida is presently detained at Roxas City PNP Station and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
