BACOLOD City – A couple wanted for rebellion charges was arrested at Barangay Talalak, Sta. Catalina, Negros Oriental Friday, a report from Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (Norppo) said.
Arrested were Luis Ragay, 53, and wife Lenie Ragay, 49, of the said village.
Police and the military served the arrest warrant issued by Judge Marie Rose G. Inocando-Paras in Bayawan City, against the couple.
The court had set a P200,000 bail for their provisional liberty.
According to the military, the couple is allegedly considered the “eyes and ears” of the New People’s Army (NPA) in the area.
The couple’s son was a former member of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (Cafgu) who was dismissed in 2018.
The two suspected rebels are now in the custody of Sta. Catalina Municipal Police Station.
