BACOLOD City – The Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 said it arrested a high value target (HVT) in the campaign against illegal drugs during a buy-bust at Bangga Escala, Barangay Estefania here on Sunday.
Police identified the suspect as Romeo Salem Jr., 36, of the said village, who allegedly yielded P750,000 worth of suspected shabu.
Joint operatives of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU)-6, Bacolod City Mobile Force Company (BCMFC), and Police Station 4 conducted the operation against Salem, who is considered the 10th HVT in the region.
Salem allegedly sold five sachets of suspected shabu placed inside a brown envelope sealed with packing tape to a police agent for P115,000, a report said.

The recovered illegal drugs were submitted to the Negros Occidental Provincial Crime Laboratory for examination.
Salem is detained at Police Station 4 for the filing of drug charges.
This is the second big drug haul of PRO-6 in Negros Occidental this month after the San Carlos City operation which resulted in the confiscation of P13.9 million worth of suspected shabu from 31-year-old Emmanuel Siaboc, who is also listed as one of the region’s HVTs.
