A woman ex-convict was arrested again in an anti-drug operation on the afternoon of Dec. 6 in Dumangas, Iloilo.
The suspect, alias Jenjen, 39, of Barangay Lagubang, Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo, was arrested in a buy-bust operation at Barangay PD Monfort North, Dumangas.
Operatives from the Iloilo Police Provincial Office–Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (IPPO-PDEU) seized about 505 grams of suspected shabu from her.
Maj. Dadje Delima, IPPO-PDEU chief, said the confiscated drugs had an estimated standard value of PHP 3,434,000.
He said the operation stemmed from a tip provided by a concerned citizen in Dumangas.
Police said they validated the information for nearly a month before confirming Jenjen’s involvement in illegal drug activities.
The suspect allegedly worked as a bodegera (warehouse keeper) for drug supplies being distributed across the first, second and fourth districts of Iloilo province.
She reportedly sourced the illegal drugs from Metro Manila.
Jenjen was previously arrested for conspiracy to commit illegal drug trading, along with her husband.
She was later released after entering a plea bargaining agreement.
Jenjen is now in police custody and will face charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
