BACOLOD City – A man took responsibility for the death of a 10-year-old girl whose body was found under a kitchen sink in a boarding house at Brgy. Zone 14-B, Talisay City, Negros Occ. Friday night.
A report by Aksyon Radyo Bacolod cited Almar Duron as saying that he was unaware when he committed the crime.
Duron added that he first told the victim to dump spoiled food into the river and when she came back, he covered her mouth with handkerchief and wrap her head with a plastic bag.
He then hid the body under the sink by covering with a large basin.
Duron denied that he was drunk or high on drugs when he killed the child. Duron initially denied suffocating the child to death out of fear.
On the other hand, the younger brother of the suspect, who is a minor, was cleared of any involvement in the crime and was endorsed to the social welfare department.
Duron sought forgiveness from the victim’s family.
Murder charges will be filed against him today, Jan 7, 2019.
