2026 promises to be a landmark year in Philippine triathlon history as Century Tuna and Sunrise Events Inc. renew their partnership to stage two of the country’s most iconic multisport events in Subic Bay—the 10th IRONMAN 70.3 Subic Bay and the fifth Century Tuna IRONMAN Philippines.
In a momentous contract signing held recently at Century Pacific Food Inc.’s headquarters in Pasig, SEI founder Fred Uytengsu and CPFI Executive Vice President and COO Greg Banzon formalized the renewed alliance, signaling a bold new era for the sport in the country.
This milestone year also aligns with several major anniversaries: Century Tuna’s 40th year, the 20th anniversary of the Century Tuna Superbods, and the highly anticipated return to the IRONMAN World Championship in Kona, Hawaii, where top male and female qualifiers from the Philippine races will earn coveted slots.
With the global triathlon calendar quickly filling up, the 2026 IRONMAN races in Subic Bay—staged in partnership with NLEX and the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority—are expected to attract a strong influx of foreign elites and age-groupers eager to compete in one of Southeast Asia’s most scenic and demanding race venues.
Subic Bay’s strategic location, proven race logistics, and warm local hospitality continue to make it a favorite among international triathletes.
Registration for both IRONMAN 70.3 Subic Bay and IRONMAN Philippines opened Friday, Aug. 1, 2025, with organizers anticipating a surge of local and international entries eager to be part of this historic staging.

The IRONMAN Philippines will feature the full-distance format: a 3.9-kilometer swim, 180.2-kilometer bike ride, and 42.2-kilometer run—considered one of the toughest single-day athletic feats.
Meanwhile, IRONMAN 70.3 Subic Bay will test athletes with a 1.9-kilometer swim, 90-kilometer bike ride, and 21.1-kilometer run, attracting a wide yet equally passionate field of competitors from around the globe.
To further champion inclusivity and encourage broader participation, Birch Tree Adult Boost joins as title sponsor of the Sunrise Sprint, a beginner-friendly race featuring a 750-meter swim, 20-kilometer bike ride, and 5-kilometer run.
Adding even more excitement to the 2026 lineup is the Super Sprint, a compact 400-meter swim, 10-kilometer bike ride, and 2.5-kilometer run designed for multisport beginners and seasoned athletes looking to sharpen their speed and technique.
Set against Subic Bay’s stunning coastal terrain—lined with forest trails and heritage sites—the twin events promise not just a test of endurance but also a memorable cultural and sporting experience.
Expect festive sidelines, local flavors, and a roaring crowd of supporters, making the 2026 IRONMAN races in the Philippines a true celebration of spirit, strength, and community.
