The Roxas City Component Police Station dismissed the claim made by a student that she was gang raped.
Lieutenant Colonel Aron Palomo, Roxas City police chief, said they came up with the conclusion after conducting a thorough investigation immediately after the incident was reported.
“She was made to undergo a medical examination. The result did not show any laceration, which is quite unusual because she claimed to have been raped by around eight men,” Palomo said.
The 14-year-old complainant, accompanied by her father, went to the police station around 7:40 p.m. on Jan 13, 2023.
She told investigators that the alleged rape incident happened at Capitol Hills in Barangay Lanot, Roxas City.
According to her, she was waiting for a ride home around 5:30 p.m. on Friday when a group of eight men passed by in front of her.
The group, who was on board a brown tricycle, allegedly forced her into the vehicle.
The suspects allegedly gagged her mouth with a handkerchief and took her to a hilly part of Lanot village.
The girl claimed the suspects undressed her and took turns in sexually molesting her.
The suspects then covered her mouth and eyes and left her.
But the complainant did not tell the police how she managed to leave the area and go home.
“After the report was made, we checked the area where they traveled and the place where she was allegedly molested. But it appeared there’s no evidence that could support her claim,” Paloma said.
It appeared that the victim had a misunderstanding with the suspects and made up a story.
Palomo said they no longer called on the alleged suspects for questioning.
