ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 22-year-old student died after his motorcycle collided with a car Thursday morning, May 22, in Barangay Balijuagan, Roxas City.
Police identified the victim as Rico Aldamero of Barangay Cudian, Ivisan, Capiz.
The car driver was identified as Merlando Tuble, 67, of Barangay Dayao, Roxas City.
According to the Roxas City Police, Tuble was traveling toward the city when Aldamero, who was riding a motorcycle, overtook a dump truck and collided with Tuble’s vehicle.
The victim was reportedly on his way to Ivisan when the incident occurred.
Due to the impact, Aldamero sustained multiple fatal injuries.
He was rescued by the Capiz Emergency Response Team and brought to a hospital in Roxas City but was declared dead on arrival.
Tuble was also brought to the hospital after experiencing chest pain caused by a spike in blood pressure.
Police are continuing their investigation.
