ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A student died while another person was injured when two motorcycles figured in a head-on collision on Saturday night in Barangay Poblacion, Dumalag, Capiz.
Police identified the fatality as Nonoy, 18, of Barangay Dolores, Dumalag. The other rider was identified as Berto, an employee of the local government unit of Dumalag and a resident of Barangay Poblacion.
Investigation by the Dumalag police indicated that Berto was on his way from Barangay Dolores proceeding to Barangay Poblacion when he was hit by the motorcycle driven by Nonoy.
It was learned that Nonoy swerved into the lane of Berto, resulting in the collision.
Both sustained injuries to different parts of their bodies.
Nonoy was brought to Tapaz District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician, while Berto was taken to Dao District Hospital.
Meanwhile, three individuals were injured when two motorcycles collided on Friday evening, Feb. 27, on the national highway in Barangay Nasunogan, Dao, Capiz.
Police identified the victims as Dolfo, 25, a security guard and resident of Sitio Sinandigan, Barangay Mianay, Capiz, along with his back rider Jomel, a construction worker.
The other motorcycle was driven by Jelo, 29, a farmer and resident of the same area.
The victims sustained injuries to different parts of their bodies and were confined at the Senator Gerardo Roxas Memorial District Hospital in Dao for medical treatment. All three were reported in stable condition.
Police are currently investigating both incidents.
