Family-related issues may have prompted a 21-year-old student to take her own life.
Police reported that Daisy (real name withheld), a resident of Caticlan, Malay, Aklan, allegedly committed suicide.
Her body was discovered in the comfort room of a staffhouse in Caticlan around 6 pm of Nov 19, 2020.
Daisy was a student of Northwestern Visayan Colleges in Kalibo.
Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Pablito, Malay police chief, said they are investigating the incident but initially found no sign of foul play.
Daisy’s father claimed they did not notice anything off with the victim prior to the incident.
But she intimated to friends her problems.
A suicide note was found near her body, but the handwriting will still be evaluated for authenticity.
In the note, the victim talked about being tired of everything.
She also asked to be buried in “San Joaquin” where she expected that only a few would come to visit her.
Referring to her family, she said “nakakapagod na kayo, nakakasawa, ayoko na lang mabuhay.”
Recently, concerns were raised over several suicide incidents involving youngsters in Aklan province.
The most recent was the case of a Grade 10 student from Banga, Aklan.
The 18-year old student also died of apparent suicide on November 8 following his parents alleged failure to buy a mobile phone to be used for his modular classes.
