BACOLOD City – A street cleaner died after she was run over by a trailer truck at Purok Jalandon, Barangay 6 here last Thursday.
The victim was identified as Rosalinda Filiu, 70, of the said village.
Police Corporal Erhex Branyl Tan, traffic investigator of Police Station 2, said that truck driver Leo Barona, 32, of Murcia town, failed to see the victim who was walking and crossing the street.
“Nangalihid ni ang biktima sa kilid truck, wala kakita ang truck driver na may tawo gali kay daw blind spot na siya ka truck,” Tan said.
Tan said that half of the victim’s body was ran over. She was rushed to a hospital, but was declared dead on arrival.
Tan said the victim’s family and the truck driver already had an initial settlement after the truck owner assured to provide financial assistance for the victim’s burial.
