A religious motorcade in honor of Señor Santo Niño will take place all over Iloilo City on January 22.
The motorcade will start at 2pm from San Jose Parish Church, and then will pass by Bo. Obrero Church, La Paz Church, Jaro Cathedral, Mandurriao Church, Arevalo Church, Molo Church, and back to San Jose Parish Church thereafter.
This is in celebration of the Ilonggos’ unwavering devotion to the Child Jesus amid these trying times.
The “Golden Boy,” the replica of the Sto. Niño de Cebu brought to Iloilo in 1967, will be carried through seven districts of the city.
This is instead of the fluvial and foot procession during Dinagyang Festival.
The traditional fluvial and foot procession will not push through due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and to keep everyone safe while still celebrating.
The virtual editions of religious sadsad will be livestreamed on Jan. 23 at 6pm, and Dinagyang mass on January 24 at 7AM on various online platforms and social media pages. (Beatriz Angelica Pequierda/Iloilo City PIO)
