So when Virgie Salinas marked her 80th birthday with a dinner-dance affair at the flower-adorned Grand Ballroom of the upscale Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo, she truly sparkled.

Looking elegant in a blush pink Djohn Clement gown, the celebrant made a grand entrance to cheers from her family, friends and well-wishers.

The celebration opened with a red carpet welcome and cocktail hour, accompanied by soothing live strings, piano and violin performances.

Guests enjoyed an exquisite dinner, free-flowing wine and a spectacular ambiance orchestrated by her daughters Aura Febe Salinas Collins and Karen Salinas-Day, who flew in from abroad.

Live acoustic crooner Joel set the mood with retro disco hits, drawing guests to the dance floor to show off their terpsichorean flair, darlings.
