ROXAS CITY, CAPIZ – A 50-year-old farmer died after he was accidentally crushed by a steel platform at Barangay Salocon, Panitan, Capiz.
Ernie Lopez of the said village was declared dead on arrival in a hospital.
Investigation conducted by the Panitan PNP indicated that a truck driven by Rachelio Bucio, 47, of Sampaloc, Manila was on its way to Roxas City when a steel platform accidentally fell off the truck.
Lopez, victim who was walking at the scene, was hit by the piece of equipment.
It was learned that the truck was loaded with chicken feeds.
The police believed that the steel platform fell because the truck was speeding.
The truck driver voluntarily surrendered to Panitan Municipal Police Station after the incident.
