“Stan The Man” just found a new home.
Following the sale of his mother franchise, the Terrafirma Dyip, Stanley Pringle already secured his future in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) after joining the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters via a two-year contract deal.
The Elasto Painters announced their biggest off-season acquisition via a social media post on their official Facebook account on July 15, 2025.
“We’re excited to announce that the former #1 overall pick in 2014 and 4-time PBA Champion is joining the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters after signing a two-year deal as a free agent,” posted Rain or Shine.
Before getting drafted in the PBA 11 years ago, Pringle was already a household name overseas after playing for the Leuven Bears and the Indonesia Warriors from 2009 to 2013.
With the star status he received in the international limelight, GlobalPort (now NorthPort Batang Pier) didn’t think twice and selected Pringle as the lottery pick of the 2014 Draft.
The daredevil guard immediately showcased what he could do on the hardwood as he took the PBA by storm with his insane coast-to-coast speed and acrobatic finishing ability above the rim.
Despite not winning any championship with GlobalPort, Pringle still earned the respect of the league as the Rookie of the Year and a former Best Player of the Conference (BPC).
All that changed when he decided to jump ships and play for the Ginebra San Miguel in 2019, where he ended up with four PBA championship titles.
When the Tim Cone-led squad failed to have a consistent grand final appearance in the summer of 2024, Pringle made headlines when he was involved in a blockbuster trade package involving Terrafirma.
The Gin Kings let go of Pringle and Christian Standhardinger for the younger frontcourt duo of Stephen Holt and Isaac Go which shook the league momentarily, but the duo was quick to accept their fate and moved on from their Ginebra dynasty.
Following his arrival at Rain or Shine, head coach Yeng Guiao and the rest of the coaching staff finally found the perfect mentor for their talented pool of guards led by Adrian Nocum, Anton Asistio, Felix Lemetti, and Andrei Caracut.
