SSS chief lauds Visa, RCBC-backed LRT-2 fare system
Social Security System President and CEO Robert Joseph M. de Claro tested the new cashless fare system Monday, July 13, 2026, at LRT-2’s Legarda Station during the launch of the Automated Fare Collection System, praising the rollout as a boost to commuter convenience.
Finance Secretary Frederick D. Go, who also chairs the Social Security Commission, attended the launch.
The Automated Fare Collection System is an initiative of the Light Rail Transit Authority and the Department of Transportation that seeks to streamline fare payments, reduce reliance on cash, and provide commuters with a faster and more seamless travel experience.
The cashless fare system is powered by Visa and Rizal Commercial Banking Corp., an SSS partner bank for the MySSS Card.
Under RCBC’s PISO Fare Cashback Promo, eligible holders of the MySSS Card powered by RCBC DiskarTech may ride for as low as PHP 1 when using their card from July 13–31, subject to the promotion’s terms and conditions.
The rollout expands cashless payment options for LRT-2 commuters while highlighting the MySSS Card’s use beyond access to SSS-related services.
