SSS announces flexible work arrangement
The Social Security System (SSS) announced that all its branch offices nationwide will remain open and operate during regular business hours to accommodate members, pensioners, and claimants.
This comes as the SSS implements a flexible work arrangement starting Monday, June 3, 2024, to help mitigate traffic congestion, especially in Metro Manila.
SSS President and Chief Executive Officer Rolando Ledesma Macasaet clarified that under the new arrangement, the SSS headquarters in Quezon City and its corporate office in Makati will have a one-day work-from-home schedule and a four-day in-office schedule.
All SSS branch offices nationwide, including the SSS Diliman Branch, will continue daily operations.
Macasaet said that employees at the SSS Main Office in Quezon City will work from home on Mondays and in the office from Tuesday to Friday.
Meanwhile, employees at the Makati corporate office will work in the office from Monday to Thursday and from home on Fridays.
Macasaet emphasized that the operations of the 254 SSS branch offices nationwide will not be affected by the new work schedule. He assured everyone that all SSS branch offices, including the SSS Diliman Branch in Quezon City, will continue to operate normally, ensuring seamless service delivery to members, pensioners, and beneficiaries.
SSS Executive Vice President Voltaire P. Agas added that all branch offices will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday. Selected SSS offices in malls will operate from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from Monday to Saturday.
Agas also noted that all branch offices will continue to accept various SSS transactions, including tellering services. SSS members and claimants are encouraged to use the 24/7 online transaction services available through the My.SSS Portal for filing benefit claims and loan applications.
“Members can conveniently pay their monthly contributions and loan amortizations over the counter and online through SSS-accredited bank and non-bank collecting partners. These alternative methods ensure our services remain accessible and uninterrupted,” he added.
Earlier, Finance Secretary Ralph G. Recto, also the Chairperson of the Social Security Commission, announced that the Department of Finance (DOF) adopted a four-day workweek starting in May to reduce the burden of commuting through heavy traffic in the National Capital Region.
Additionally, local government units (LGUs) in Metro Manila have adjusted their employees’ work schedule to 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. to help ease traffic flow.
