The countdown begins for the highly anticipated 25th Philippine Academic Book Fair, slated from June 5 to 7 at the Megatrade Hall 1, SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City.
Mounted by the Academic Booksellers Association of the Philippines, this year’s fair promises not only an impressive showcase of academic resources, but also a series of special events for attendees.
Under the theme “Thriving Amidst Technological Advancements and Global Challenges,” the book fair serves as a dynamic platform for educators, scholars, students, and book enthusiasts to explore the evolving landscape of academic knowledge and technological innovation.
Highlighting the roster of special events is the 2024 PAARL ABAP Forum, organized by the Philippine Association of Academic/Research Librarians, Inc. On June 6, from 10 am to 3 pm, attendees will have the opportunity to engage with industry experts as they delve into critical topics shaping the future of academic librarianship.
Mr. Kevin Conrad T. Tansiongco of De La Salle University Manila will present a lecture titled “From Access to Action: How Academic Librarians Drive Advocacy and Outreach Activities.” Meanwhile, Mr. Chito N. Angeles of the University of the Philippines Diliman will share insights on “Implementing Traditional Book Circulation and ILL in Digital Environment: Exploring the Potentials of Controlled Digital Lending in the Philippines.”
On June 7, from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm, C&E Adaptive Learning Solutions will host The Fundamentals of MICE Industry: Author Signing, Book Presentation, and Conversations. This engaging session will feature Ms. Cynthia Bernabe and Mr. Anton Magpantay, authors of “Professional Events Management: A Guide to Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Exhibitions, and Events.” Attendees will gain valuable insights into the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Exhibitions) industry, including certification, application principles, and practical tips for event management.
“The 25th Philippine Academic Book Fair goes beyond being a marketplace for books—it’s a hub for knowledge exchange and discourse,” said ABAP president Evelyn Millar.
The 25th Philippine Academic Book Fair is co-organized by Primetrade Asia, Inc. For more information, contact 8896-0682 or 8373-3301, or email info@primetradeasia.com.
