SM Iloilo City mallgoers can now conveniently access various government services with the opening of the SM Government Service Express on Wednesday, Feb. 26.
The newly launched one-stop shop allows the public to process essential documents and transactions from nine government agencies, eliminating the need to visit multiple offices.
Located beside Our Home on the lower ground floor, the office houses the Bureau of Fire Protection, the Department of Migrant Workers, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, the Philippine Statistics Authority, PhilHealth, the Public Employment Service Office, the Philippine Postal Corp., the Philippine National Police, and the National Bureau of Investigation.
Engr. Gilbert Domingo, mall manager of SM City Iloilo, highlighted the initiative as a key effort to enhance public service delivery and address societal needs.
“SM City Iloilo is committed to serving the public through various initiatives that create a positive impact in the communities it serves,” he said.
“With a focus on providing accessible, safe, and inclusive spaces, SM continues to enhance the shopping experience while also addressing societal needs, as seen in our Government Service Express,” he added.

Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas emphasized the importance of good governance and ease of doing business to ensure safety and convenience for constituents.
He said the partnership with SM Supermalls plays a key role in making government services more accessible, demonstrating corporate social responsibility, and strengthening public-private collaboration.
“We need the private sector’s support and partnership for the continuous growth and development of the city,” he said.
The city’s Public Employment Service Office will also be present at the facility, making job opportunities more accessible to the community.
