SK kagawad nabbed over rape charges

A Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) kagawad accused of sexual molestation was arrested afternoon of July 17, 2023 in Carles, Iloilo.

Jerrald Herradura, 25, of Sitio Bagacay Dako, Barangay Barangcalan, Carles, was collared while walking at Poblacion, Carles.

Members of Carles Municipal Police Station, Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Provincial Intelligence Unit (IPPO-PIU), IPPO Special Operations Group, 2nd Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company, and Sto. Tomas City Police Station implemented an arrest warrant for rape in Criminal Case Number 22-11-1264 and lascivious conduct in CC Number 22-11-1265.

No bail was recommended for the rape charge while a P200,000 bail was set for the lascivious conduct case.

Senior Master Sergeant Kristoffer Balaan, Carles police investigator, said Herradura is one of the most wanted persons of Region 4-A.

He was allegedly accused of the charges while working as a construction worker at his uncle’s business in Batangas.

After cases were filed against him, he went back to Iloilo province.

He had been hiding for about a year already, Balaan said.

The suspect is now detained.
