BACOLOD City – Six persons suffered minor injuries after an ambulance collided with a passenger jeepney on Hernaez-Lacson Streets here on Friday night.
Police Major Jovil Sedel, head of Police Station 1, said the ambulance driven by 29-year-old Ramil Sumbi was transporting a hit-and-run patient from Sagay City, Negros Occidental to a private hospital here when the accident occurred.
The jeepney driver identified as 27-year-old Johnny Villo told the media that he did not hear the siren of the ambulance.
Sedel said the jeep was loaded with four passengers when the accident happened.
Villo and one of his passengers as well as the four passengers of the ambulance were injured. All six of them are now stable.
Sedel said that the nurse on board the ambulance suffered a fracture, but all of them were already discharged from the hospital.
Villo is now in police custody.
