ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Six individuals were arrested by police in separate operations Sunday afternoon, April 5, for alleged illegal cockfighting in Sapian and Jamindan, Capiz.
The Jamindan Municipal Police Station caught aliases Toto and Art, both of Barangay Milan, Jamindan, Capiz, allegedly conducting illegal cockfighting.
The two suspects will be charged with violating Presidential Decree 449, as amended by Presidential Decree 1602, or the law against illegal cockfighting.
Police said a concerned citizen reported the suspects’ illegal activities, prompting an immediate response.
Meanwhile, the Sapian Municipal Police Station arrested four persons for the same activity on the same day in Sitio Lag-it, Barangay Bilao, Sapian, Capiz.
Police said another concerned citizen informed authorities about the suspects’ activities.
The six individuals are now under the custody of the Sapian and Jamindan police stations for proper disposition.
