BACOLOD City – Police have no lead yet on the motive behind the killing of a farmer at Sitio Tabuan, Barangay San Isidro, E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental last Wednesday.
Authorities identified the victim as Dionesio Alabado Jr., 57, of the said village.
Police Master Sergeant Konnan Tampos, investigator of E.B. Magalona Municipal Police Station, said six unidentified armed men went to the victim’s house and called out his name.
When the perpetrators confirmed the victim’s identity, they allegedly forced him to go with them and shot him a few meters away from his house.
The victim’s family heard a gunshot and when they checked, they discovered the victim with a head injury, Tampos said.
Recovered from the scene was an empty shell of a suspected .45 caliber bullet.
Tampos said the victim had no record with the barangay and the police.
“Gapanguma man lang na da siya sa ila, wala man daw na kontra according sa family,” he added.
Tampos said they also have no lead yet on the identities of the perpetrators, who were reportedly armed with long firearms.
