SIGMA, Capiz — A man was arrested during an entrapment operation conducted by the Sigma Municipal Police Station at Sitio Proper, Barangay Tawog, Sigma, Capiz, on June 1, 2026, at about 5:30 p.m.
The operation was led by Police Maj. Narciso V. Sables, officer-in-charge of the Sigma Municipal Police Station, under the supervision of Police Col. Albert D. Tapulao, provincial director of the Capiz Police Provincial Office.
Police identified the suspect only as alias “Rene.”
He was arrested for alleged violation of Presidential Decree No. 1602, as amended by Republic Act No. 9287, and violation of Section 28 of Republic Act No. 10591.
Police recovered from the suspect one brown sling bag, one PHP 50 bill used as buy-bust money, two small pieces of paper with written numbers, two blue and black ballpens, the suspect’s identification cards, PHP 823.25 in cash in different denominations, one motorcycle key, and three rounds of 9 mm live ammunition.
The suspect was brought to the Sigma Municipal Police Station for documentation and proper disposition.
The Capiz Police Provincial Office said it remains firm in its duty to enforce the law and protect the public from illegal gambling and loose firearms.
