SIGMA, Capiz — The municipal government of Sigma in Capiz, under the leadership of Mayor Dante Rizal A. Eslabon, received an “excellent” audit report from the Commission on Audit, commending the municipality for its highly transparent and accountable management of public funds.
Based on the Statement of Audit Suspensions, Disallowances, and Charges Report for the second quarter of 2026, Sigma recorded zero notices of suspension, zero notices of disallowance, and zero notices of charge from April 30 to June 30, 2026, marking another significant milestone for the municipality.
The recognition reflects the administration’s continued commitment to responsible financial management, transparency, and accountability in the use of public funds.
The COA audit report for the second quarter of 2026 was signed by Juliet C. Dumot, State Auditor IV and team leader, and approved by Atty. Walter F. Menez, State Auditor V and supervising auditor.
It was released and received by the municipal government of Sigma on June 30, 2026.
Complementing this achievement, Sigma has consistently passed the Seal of Good Financial Housekeeping evaluation conducted by the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
The recognition, earned under Eslabon’s administration, affirms the municipality’s adherence to fiscal transparency, accountability, and prudent management of public funds.
The Seal of Good Financial Housekeeping recognizes local government units that comply with accounting and auditing standards, rules, and regulations, and it forms part of the DILG’s broader good governance assessment framework.
Beyond financial transparency, Sigma has also recorded notable milestones across various sectors.
For educational expansion, the municipal government officially donated a three-hectare parcel of land to Capiz State University Sigma Satellite College to further strengthen campus development and expand educational opportunities for the people of Sigma and neighboring communities.
In environmental governance, Sigma placed third among local government units in Capiz in the “Ca Tinlo Year 4” campaign, which recognized outstanding implementation of environmental protection and solid waste management programs at the municipal and barangay levels.
These accomplishments add to the growing list of recognitions and awards received by Sigma under Eslabon’s administration, reflecting its continued pursuit of good governance, transparency, and sustainable development.
