SIGMA, Capiz — The newly opened One Sigma Dialysis Center in Barangay Pagbunitan will cater not only to residents of this town but also to patients from nearby municipalities in the 2nd District of Capiz.
Mayor Dante Rizal Eslabon made the announcement during the blessing and opening of the facility on Dec. 1, 2025.
The inauguration was attended by Capiz Gov. Fredenil “Oto” Castro and 2nd District Rep. Inday Baby Castro.
Eslabon thanked various sectors and groups that contributed to establishing the center, noting that the local government unit of Sigma will help support its operations to ensure continued service to patients.
The One Sigma Dialysis Center aims to augment the provincial government’s capacity to treat individuals with chronic kidney disease and expand access to healthcare services for Capiznons.
A few months earlier, the provincial government opened its own dialysis center at Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital in Barangay Lanot, Roxas City.
Eslabon said the Sigma facility is equipped with 15 high-tech dialysis machines capable of accommodating as many as 400 patients per day and includes a transport vehicle available 24 hours a day to ferry patients to and from the center.
He expressed gratitude to the Alvarez family from Tarlac for investing millions of pesos to make the project possible, emphasizing that it is intended to benefit poor patients.
He also thanked the center’s partner agency, Brilliant Health Care OPC, owned by Agnes Alvarez, for facilitating the procurement and installation of equipment.
Alvarez said Brilliant Health Care OPC processed the facility’s Permit to Construct for prompt approval by the Department of Health and PhilHealth.
