SIDNEY ECULLA X LGU IGBARAS: Fashion and Tourism Show
By: Anne Karmela Eucogco
All roads led to Igbaras on the evening of December 29th, 2019 to grace the Sidney Eculla x LGU Igbaras Fashion and Tourism Show. It was also the capping event of Igbaras’ 256th Founding Anniversary celebration and coincidentally, Eculla’s 10th year in the fashion industry.
Guests enjoyed a variety of canapès and drinks prepared by Dova while being welcomed by the municipal Mayor, Dr. Jaime Esmeralda.
The show was held in the newly-refurbished Igbaras parish plaza where models sashayed Eculla’s retrospective collection around the scenic fountain area dressed in white fresh flowers with a Chateau painting backdrop, creating a Parisian garden feel. Some of the pieces were Eculla’s collection which were shown in Canada, Australia, New Zealand and locally. A few were pieces which have graced the stage and red carpet events of the Miss Universe pageant while some were especially made for the said event. Igbarasnon kids and teens also made an appearance in the real people segment show dressed in Eculla’s pastel-colored frocks while the Metropolitan String Quartet played a repertoire of favorite classics in the background.
The Philippines’ modelling industry’s best like Ria Bolivar, Kirst Viray, Quito Treñas, Kath Odanaka and Dimple dela Cruz together with Iloilo City’s Bijoux and IMG models made the event more fabulous. The fashion show was under the direction of Mr. Bombette Marin and hosted by Mr. Romell Paborada.
A grandiose fireworks display capped the activity to the delight of everyone.
