ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A teenage brother and sister were injured after the motorcycle they were riding crashed into a steel bridge Monday evening, April 20, in Sitio Camansilis, Barangay Pawa, Panay, Capiz.
Police identified the victims only by their aliases, “Robert,” 18, and “Judy Ann,” 16, both residents of Barangay Bato, Panay, Capiz.
A report from the Panay Municipal Police Station said the siblings were on their way to the town proper when the motorcycle, driven by Robert, hit the bridge.
Robert sustained head injuries and wounds to other parts of his body.
Judy Ann, who was riding pillion, suffered an injury to her right leg and other parts of her body.
Personnel from the Panay Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office brought the two to Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital for treatment.
Police took custody of the motorcycle as part of the investigation.
Road crashes involving motorcycles remain common in many towns because of narrow roads, limited lighting and speeding or loss of control.
