ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Police seized 10 sachets of suspected shabu and an unlicensed .45-caliber firearm from a motorist at a checkpoint around 11 p.m. in Barangay Poblacion Ilawod, Panitan, Capiz.
The Panitan Municipal Police Station identified the suspect as Archie Dizon, 34, of Barangay Poblacion Ilaya, Maayon, Capiz.
Police said Dizon was on his way home from Roxas City when he was flagged down at the checkpoint.
Authorities said they recovered 10 sachets of suspected shabu and a .45-caliber firearm loaded with seven live rounds of ammunition.
Police said the suspect admitted using illegal drugs.
Dizon is under the custody of the Panitan Municipal Police Station.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against him.
In a separate operation, a 25-year-old man facing an act of lasciviousness case was arrested by the Ivisan Municipal Police Station by virtue of a warrant at his house in Barangay Poblacion Norte, Ivisan, Capiz, around 5:12 p.m. on May 12, 2026.
Police identified the suspect only as alias Emel of Sitio Pamantawan, Barangay Mianay, Ivisan, Capiz.
He was released from police custody after posting the recommended bail for his temporary liberty.
