A minor reshuffle has been implemented in key positions within the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO).
Colonel Bayani Razalan, Iloilo police chief, confirmed that several units have new commanders following a round of personnel relief and reassignment.
He said the changes were prompted by the relief of Lieutenant Colonel Benjo Clarite as chief of the Passi City Police Station.
Razalan said Clarite was reassigned because he had been holding the same post for two years and four months.
Clarite, a lawyer, was designated as head of the IPPO Provincial Investigation and Detective Management Unit (PIDMU).
He succeeded Lieutenant Colonel Abner Jordan, who is now serving as IPPO operations chief.
Jordan replaced Lieutenant Colonel Engilbert Banquillo, who has assumed the position of full-time IPPO deputy provincial director for operations (DPDO).
Several months earlier, Lieutenant Colonel Romar Peregil, former IPPO deputy provincial director for administration (DPDA), was reassigned outside Iloilo province.
Lieutenant Colonel Remy Alabaren, who previously served as IPPO DPDO, took over Peregil’s role in a concurrent capacity.
With Banquillo’s new designation as IPPO DPDO, Alabaren will now serve as full-time IPPO DPDA.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Colonel Herman Magbanua, commander of the 2nd Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company, has been named the new Passi City police chief.
Major Harold Rendora, former deputy chief of the IPPO Provincial Intelligence Unit, has been designated as the new commander of the 2nd IPMFC.
Razalan said no further movement of personnel is expected soon unless required by the exigency of service.
