Seven in jail for ‘illegal drug use’ in Roxas City

ROXAS CITY, CAPIZ – Seven persons were apprehended after a joint team of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Capiz and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of Capiz Police Provincial Office swooped down on an alleged drug den Tuesday night, August 8, on Mckinley Street, Barangay 1 here.
Police identified the suspects as Ema Villanueva, 43, of Barangay 9 but temporarily residing in Barangay 1 and tagged as the alleged maintainer of the alleged drug den; John Mark Dela Cruz, 36, of Dumangas, Iloilo but temporarily residing in Villanueva’s place; Irene Villasan, 42, of Barangay Agbabadiang, Panitan; Jalil Ompac, 27, of Barangay 9; Kayma Polog, 38, of Barangay Tanque; Alex Magbanua, 46, of Barangay 1; and Abdul Fatah Polog, 40, of Barangay Tanque, all on Roxas City.
Recovered from the suspects were 9 sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P80,000, several drug paraphernalia, and the P500 marked money.
The suspects were caught after Villanueva and Dela Cruz transacted with a poseur buyer of PDEA.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against them.
