SERVICE BEYOND POWER: Negros Power Joins Tree Planting For Environmental Conservation

DON SALVADOR BENEDICTO – Negros Power employees, alongside environmental groups and local officials, took part in a tree planting event organized by the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) on Sunday, September 29, 2024, in the highlands of Don Salvador Benedicto.

The activity, which aimed to support the IBP’s advocacy for “Justice for Environment,” drew over 500 participants who planted of more than 2,000 trees, including species such as Almaciga, Bacan, Narra, and Acacia.

Those involved included government employees, Indigenous Peoples from the province, and various civic organizations.

Negros Power was among the event’s key sponsors.

Municipal Vice Mayor Nehemiah Joe Dela Cruz also attended the event, showing support for the conservation effort.

“We must protect and preserve our environment for future generations. Initiatives like this ensure that we leave a sustainable legacy,” Dela Cruz said.

Atty. Gerry Llena, president of IBP Negros Occidental, highlighted the importance of collective efforts in environmental preservation.

“We are grateful to Negros Power for their sponsorship and for being active partners in this initiative. It’s encouraging to see different sectors of society come together to protect our natural resources,” Llena said.

This tree planting activity is part of Negros Power’s broader commitment to environmental conservation.
