Senior citizen nabbed in illegal drug bust

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A senior citizen was arrested Monday evening in a drug buy-bust operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Capiz led by PDEA agent Maria Melinda Panaguiton and Dumalag PNP in Barangay Sto. Niño, Dumalag, Capiz.

The operatives identified the suspect as Jhon Vito Felasol, 60, of said barangay.

Recovered from the suspect were 3 sachets of suspected shabu, a pouch, and P500 marked money.

The seized substance weighed 0.5 grams with a street value of P3,400.

The suspect is presently detained at Dumalag PNP and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, a 47-year-old chief tanod who was arrested Saturday afternoon, Feb. 25, in a police-led drug bust at Barangay Ilaya, Pontevedra, Capiz was formally charged.

A case for violation of RA 9165 was filed against El Daliva of Brgy. Ilaya in Pontevedra before the Provincial Prosecutors’ Office Monday morning.

Recovered from Daliva were 4 sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 2 grams and valued at P13,600; a cellphone and P1,500 marked money.
