Senator commits P20 million for Bacolod

BACOLOD City – Mayor Alfredo “Albee” Benitez said on Tuesday that Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. has committed to giving P20 million to the city.

Benitez said the office of the senator will allocate P10 million as support for the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program, while the other P10 million will be provided for the construction of a building here.

The mayor said the city will have to look for a government property to build the building.

Revilla was here over the weekend to lead the distribution of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/ Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) held at the Bacolod City College (BCC) gymnasium in Barangay Taculing.

At least 905 beneficiaries from 12 barangays here received P4,800 each or a total of about P4.3 million of financial assistance.

Releasing of the salary payout was held last Saturday through the office of Revilla.

DOLE’s program provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed and seasonal workers, for a period of 10 days.
