BACOLOD City – A security guard was found dead at Bangga Sungi, Circumferential Road, Barangay Villamonte here Wednesday night, after he was allegedly mauled and stabbed to death by a group of five unidentified individuals at the said village.
Killed was Freddie Morillo Baldelovar, 34, of Silay City, Negros Occidental.
Police Major Charles Gever, head of Police Station 4, said Baldelovar attended a birthday party at the said village, when one of the suspects who was later identified as Jenor Namion entered the house of the birthday celebrant even if he was not invited.
An argument then ensued between Namion and Baldelovar, who were both reportedly drunk. It was followed by a commotion, but they were later pacified when Namion left the house.
But after the birthday party, Baldelovar, who was sent home by the celebrant, returned to the place, where he met Namion again, Gever said.
Another commotion occurred until Namion allegedly called out some companions and chased the victim until they allegedly attacked him with a bladed weapon, the station commander added.
The victim suffered multiple stab wounds, which caused his immediate death, Gever said.
The following day, Namion was arrested by the police at Purok Sabes in the said barangay, while the four other perpetrators are still at large, he said.
He said that murder charges will be filed against the suspects.
