BACOLOD CITY—A seaman died after his motorcycle hit a gutter of a bridge at Kalye Onse, Barangay 1, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, late Wednesday night.
Police identified the victim as Danilo Guevara, 52, of Barangay Gargato.
Police Lieutenant Voltaire Sy, deputy chief of Hinigaran Municipal Police Station, said the victim was believed to be speeding on his way home around 11:40 p.m. when the accident happened.
Sy noted that the victim had come from a drinking session with his friends prior to the incident.
The victim hit his head on the pavement, causing fatal injuries, according to Sy. He was not wearing a helmet.
Sy advised motorcycle riders to always wear helmets and take extra precautions when driving to avoid similar incidents.
