Senator Sonny Angara, the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas chairman, confirmed that he tested positive for COVID-19.
In his Facebook statement, Angara said that his test results came out on March 26, 2020, and regrettably announced his situation.
Before Angara, Philippine Eskrima Kali Arnis Federation president, senator Migz Zubiri, was also tested positive for the virus, making Angara the second top sports official to be tested positive.
Also, Angara elaborated in his Facebook post that he took the test last March 16 and has been under quarantine until the results came out.
Angara also admitted that he had been feeling the symptoms of COVID-19 after he experienced mild fever, cough, headaches, and general weakness.
With the things going on around Angara, all he is asking for are the prayers not only from his fellow SBP family but also from every Filipino.
“I ask for your prayers that together we are able to pull through this tremendous challenge. Let us continue to support all efforts to fight the further spread of the virus. Let us support our front-liners on the streets, in the emergency rooms as they are key to the effort,” Angara said.
